If I'm right, and based that photograph, this has the dégagé affect of literally rolling out of bed.

Ha, thanks for the comments, gents. The tie is indeed gorgeous, it's one of the Cappelli's I got on my recent trip to Naples. There are a couple of posts on visiting the Cappelli shop and receiving the Cappelli goods (also if you click on the first pic in that post, you'll get a high res version that shows the pattern in this tie more clearly) in the trip report thread.

Regarding the pants, they are indeed quite flowy and billowy, like pajama bottoms. Although they're not linen. I think it's some sort of cotton, but I'll check the fabric tag when I get home to be sure. It's not really "SF-approved" I guess, whatever that means, or at least it's not very #menswear or #pittiuomo. But I quire like them on occasion. They're Armani from a few years ago, when they were cutting pants in this style. I have 3-4 pants from this era. It does have a bit of a louche effect alluded to by Senor Corbera. I think the key to pants like this looking good (or at least, good to those who like this sort of thing) is having a fabric that's drapey and flowy. If it's a stiff fabric like the cotton used for chinos, then it just looks sloppy, like the pants are just unhemmed and cut too wide.

Please do not raise false hopes that I've resumed contributing anything of usefulness.

I did, however, post a picture of a humanoid dog in a Superman costume.
