So one of the most classic color combinations (navy suit -- black shoe) does not go. Btw, Black, Grey, White and Brown are neutral colors. Highlighted part of post = teh funny.

Kaplan, you look great.

It's hard to imagine how Adolf here has produced 11,000+ posts when he clearly puts so much thought and effort into ensuring each and every one adds to the conversation.

Wow. Thanks for all the comments. While I'm not sure I have a tie that's much more interesting than that one, I'm sure I'll get to wear this suit with brown shoes as well. For those that inquired about the background, It's an amphitheatre in a park close by.

My last fit didn't go over well, and I'm not sure how this one will be received. But here goes. (Still deciding whether my failure to be deterred is bravery or stupidity)

Let me acknowledge upfront the poor quality of the pictures/flash/pose. Also, since this was taken at end of day, the trousers are less than pristine. Again, sorry.

SC: linen, Etro, double vent (hard to see)
Shirt: white, CT Black label
Tie: purple, BB woven silk (Thanks, JPHardy!)
Square: Talbott, silk (ditto)
Trousers: Isaia
Shoes: To Boot NY

"do you live in the south? very southern dapper gentlemen look."

Well I'm Nigerian and moved to Houston when I was 14. Was there for 10 years until I ultimately moved to the Big Apple. So yeah, there is some Southern Gentleman look in my fits.

I live in Houston and I can assure you there are very few gentlemen, southern or otherwise, in this city!

(I thought Tirailleurs were Senegalese not Nigerian?)

Yeah they are. The name is inspired by the Colonial soldiers... I love their attire. nothing too deep to the name

as for the Houston statement, I agree. I really can't trace how my style developed from an anthropological standpoint. but I can only imagine some of the cultural sartorial cues somehow rubbed on me while I lived there.

A lot of things can rub off on you in Houston.

Typically, it will not be style.
