Ok, I know I dont post much if at all here, but after reading about your fit issues, Ill throw my two cents in. You do NOT have an athletic build. You have an endomorphic build, narrow-ish shoulders wider pelvis bones and while your in good shape now at some point you probably were over weight OR your body is able to gain weight very easily. Athletic builds are broad shoulder with NARROW hip bones. Yes "real" athletes have hips, BUT their hips are big from front to back (look at sprinters) not from left to right (like you). For example I am weight lifter and I have very strong hips and legs (3x bodyweight deadlift, double body weight FULL squat) yet my waist is only 30inches and my hips (wear I wear my jeans measures 32) however my glute measurement is like 39" but its big from front to back not side to side (I hope you understand what Im saying) So for me I usually have to get the seat let out on my trousers or I just but a 34 and bring the waist in to a 32.
Having said all that I do agree your newer stuff fits you better since it deemphasizes your wider hips (in relation to your shoulders). Jackets with light shoulder padding and maybe a SLIGHTLY extended shoulder would probably work best.
So, can anyone give me a suggestion on where to find a seersucker suit with double vents ?
Edit: sigh meant to put this in the quick questions thread...sorry about that. Question still stands I guess.
Try contacting Haspel. I have one of their pincord suits, and it's side-vented, with flat front trousers - I forget the model name, but I know that they did make a couple of different models of pincord/seersucker suits the season that I bought mine. The models, I am sure, don't change that much.
Otherwise, try the usual suspects - I can't remember whether Brooks's seersucker suits this year come with side vents (they have both Madison and Fitzgerald models).

Thank you, everyone (Renton, too), for your comments. Bourbon, I would have gone with white bucks today, but decided to tone it down a bit with the snuff suede Peals that I wore. Irate - glad to have proven that there are more than just black shoes in my closet. Fuuma, you are correct in noting that wearing seersucker is tricky - I made quite a botch of it in my first attempts last summer. It is very easy to go over the top, color-wise, as seersucker isn't the color anchor that a conventional suit is.
^ That room looks awesome and I dig the peep of red sock there.
In your spoiler pics, the shoes (country) seem incongruous to the pinstripe (city) suit. Though, we can't see the jacket, so I assume thats a suit. If its not, then the shoes are not the first thing you should be worrying about.
It is to be in the upper 80's F/32C today in NYC, and I've a members' preview at the Museum of Modern Art to attend this evening, so what better time to wear something designed for hot weather and that, by modern standards, is somewhat eccentric? (Eccentricity of attire at a MoMA opening is a given).
