Excellently paired with a great tie and PS. You are the one on a roll lately.

Thanks!

Re: the suit - I think it's probably now one of my oldest (certainly in the oldest handful), and went back under the tailor's scissors for some heavy surgery last year after my figure altered a fair bit from when I first got it. I love the fabric, but it's starting to show a the first hints of some shine in places now. Still holding up well overall though!

BTW, what make are your socks today? I love that pattern.

These are really great. The fit of the jacket is splendid. I'm not totally in love with the shirt/tie combo for them.

I actually like this a fair bit. With those fairly heavy shoes, I feel you need a slightly wider leg opening to the trousers to balance them out.

Not feeling it, sorry. Leaving aside the shortish trouser, I'm thinking this would be a lot better with either the waistcoat or the specs, not both. Probably the specs should be the one to be kept.

Weather was suprisingly warm and sunny today (so much for the forecast of cool and cloudy!), so here's a linen contest entry (trousers, and about half the tie):

Thanks. It's my favourite tie, actually... and today I wore glen plaid trousers - it doesn't get much more daring than that.

You too, though there is some weird crumpling at the quarters of your jacket?

Well, I don't like knits all that much, but the principle of a darker tie for that look was definitely something I thought about, and initially I was going to wear a patterned navy silk. You're right in an abstract sense that it would have looked better... but it was such an unexpectedly lovely sunny day that I simply wanted to wear a "celebratory" lighter tie. Sometimes these things absolutely must take priority!

Usually I'm all for dark ties, but I like your choice today, HF. It's nice with the pink shirt. Very cheerful.

Really like the blazer with the pearl (?) buttons, too.

* I had a whole lot of "multi-quotes" to answer tonight, but I'm tired & need my Horlicks

Let me just say that your double four-in-hands are remarkable. They've changed the way I knot. At least the ties that can handle the DFIH. Cheers!

Merci, mon cher philosophe, and your posting reminds me that I should have congratulated NYR on his award - great job, RG!

Very nice colourwork, Nii. The only thing i would have changed is the ps, it somehow doesn´t match with the rest (albeit it being great on it´s own).
