Nice fit, Spoo. Guess now is a good time to slip in under the radar with some untested stuff. New shirt and new square.

1-1 was a fair result for a great match. Nice to see both sides playing not just an open game, but a committed one too, esp. for a friendly. Genuinely enjoyable to watch, and I haven't been able to say that about England matches in a long time...! (with England's reserves playing with that amount of freedom, I hope some of the usual suspects in the regular 11 are starting to get antsy about their places. Maybe they'll actually play with some purpose next time they're picked.)

That suit is too awesome for words. Love it. The grey shoes are both too solid/unvariegated and too light in colour. Something mottled in that shade would have worked, or something a solid, but several shades darker. Black (or dark olive museum) would have been awesome; something cordovan coloured would probably also have worked. The shirt/tie combo isn't working with that suit IMO, more so in patterns than colours, though I don't think I'd have chosen exactly colours either. Solid shirt, non-solid tie may have worked better. Only nitpicking because the suit is worth the effort!

FWIW, I approve of the combo of the new shirt and the tie (Charvet, as I remember - a brand that gets remarkably little love around these parts - too shiny and visually assertive for many of the locals - harumph to that is what I say).

The suit works well with the shirt and tie combo, and as I owned that suit (or one very similar - PRL, vintage late 1990's), I have a bit of nostalgia every time that I see you wear it.

Were it me, I would have had the trousers cuffed - but that's just me.

Thanks for posting.

I'd prefer the trousers cuffed as well, but there is not enough length to do so. Thanks for the comments, Crusty!

From what I can tell, I like... but I can't tell much!

I suspected that, as you thrifted the suit, that may have been the case. Kewl.

From the look of things, it seems that NYR lost his photographer, and is doing his own work, seemingly with a camera without a self-timer.

From what can be seen, what is shown looks good, but it's much harder to appreciate what's there.

Yes to the suit (although I suspect a PM will be received regarding the 2/3 roll peak lapel configuration ). No to the shoes and tie.

It is pissing rain today. If it clears, and I get home early enough...I will try when I get home.

A bit on the subdued side, only the shirt really stands out in my view. Although I fear the tie and coat might be a bit too matchy, but hoped the difference in pattern might make it work. I also know the low-rise isn't the best fit for me, but it's all I have at the moment. I definitely need to go trouser shopping.

I'd say a "yes" to the tie.
