In my case, I paired an orange, white, and blue PS with an outfit that was predominately blue and white. Two of the PS colors harmonized with the rest of my ensemble, and the third (orange) is the complement of blue. Maybe it didn't work in practice -- I'll leave that to the eye of the beholders -- but it seems to me that, in theory (color theory, that is), the PS should have had just the right amount of pop while still harmonizing with the whole.

Without the pocket square, the top half of your outfit looks fairly sober. Dark jacket. Dark tie. There's nothing wrong with that. However, the pocket square really stands out. The bright orange dominates, and the eye is immediately drawn to it. That's not harmonious. The pattern of your shirt is very similar to the pattern of your square. That's not harmonious. The fold of the square is very business-like, while the color and pattern of the square are very fun. That's not harmonious.

The corresponding blue tie unfortunately does cheapens the look. Agree brown or if you can stomach it fushia with a white shirt.

Broadly speaking, this is a fair assessment. It's a good looking suit make the minor alteration to the sleeves & wear it well.

It is too matchy, but I actually think his button point is a bit high.

Just realized that you do have a brow tie. That is soo much better. Now about that pocket square....

WTF are you talking about?! The tie looks fine; if anything, the chest looks a little tight. Look, let's get over it, his suits are a little on the tight side--so what, he's young, and can get away with it!

The real problem is, the high lapel gorge; it looks a little off. Also, like someone else said, the sleeves are a tad long--I see now why you were leaving the shirt buttons undone! That aside, nice suit--the material/colour is nice, especially.

Also, I would necrophiliac your dead corpse for those shoes--for seriouz.

Sorry for my tacky pose.
I know that the arms needs to be shortened, but how's the rest?
Not seen in picture; brown semibrogues.

This one disappeared because it was my first post.

A little hashtag menswear, but I kind of like it. Post it in the MC casual thread and SW&D WAYWT thread.w

For the record, I think timotune's blue outfit looks fantastic. I would happily put together the same things. There is a lot of blue, yes, but there is nothing inherently wrong with that. He successfully selected blues that were disparate enough to create sufficient tonal depth, yet which do not clash.

The dark brown suede shoes are an expert touch. They take the edge off the outfit's slickness without confusing things.

Very well done and one of the best outfits I've seen in this thread recently--by far.

It's Hackett - English cloth but made in Italy. I've got quite wide hips and some jackets tend to flare out at the bottom. On this particular jacket - the flare was very noticable.

Hackett jackets always kick out like that I find (I've got fairly wide hips too). I actually like a bit of kick (you can see it in some of my suit) but Hackett usually has more of it than even I like.

The new trousers in today's pic are about 0.5" longer than my usual preferred length, but I've learnt my lesson after my last pair of beige chinos shrunk a bit too much so I've had these hemmed a fraction long for now and will get them redone (if needed) after a couple of dry-cleanings.

ETA: in hindsight, I didn't quite achieve what I was hoping for with this look. I wanted a busy top half anchored by a strong tie and a contrastingly simple bottom half. I think parts of that aim worked, and parts failed. The tie came off a touch too dark/strong and the dark brownish/red shoes don't pick up the shirt as much as I thought they might. I'm not actually unhappy with the result, but it needs a bit more refining the next time I try something similar.

^^^ Jacket and trousers clash. Square and tie too similar in both color and pattern scale.
