Rocking the J Press sack today. Looking at the full-length, I can see the pants could stand another round of slimming, and the jacket a bit more suppression at the waist. I can see why Lufty likes this look, though.

I'm a big fan of the tie and knot cufflinks but I agree the waist could use some suppression.

Just caught up on ~1,000 posts after being out due to the birth of baby #2.

  • Lots of great fits; especially loved the Spoo/DerekS bromance a few pages back, even if the latter is a bastard who steals all the 38 stuff at the local stores before I can get to them.
  • Everyone is still just as crochety as ever.
  • As a born-and-raised Southerner, if you're going to argue about anything to do with the South nowadays it damn well better be bourbon.
  • For the love of God people, if you're quoting multiple pictures, USE THE SPOILER TAGS!!! It's that fancy little black box up with the font choices in the reply box. Better yet, if you just want to say how great it is, use the thumbs-up feature. My finger is tired from using the scroll wheel so much, and it's your fault.

I like it except the pocket sq. The colors dont really match. Where is that tie from?

Thats crazy! The tailor made a suit that had double vents, ventless??? How can you even do that?

I asked her to bring the sides in to slim up the profile and when she brought them in through the side seams she must have felt that the vents had to be closed. Needless to say, I was pissed. She may have misunderstood, but man. Really? Luckily, it was a crappy boss suit I picked up for like $170 bucks, but still, it hurt.

I'm trying to decide if this is good or bad.....
Haha, a compliment in the truest sense. Khakis and a navy blazer with a striped or repp tie = archetypical frat. Grown ups wearing such attire typically don't take pain to update the silhouette to reflect their masculinity and stay in the college kid phase. You didn't, although the jacket looks like it could benefit from some alterations.

This.

I'd like to see one of those sack suits with a sleek shoe, like a Vass U last or C&J 337.

You treating? :)

I just dropped off several of my favourite SC's to get them taken in. Both are double vented. Now I'm worried they will come back closed :fu:

Leave the trou and coat as they are. Embace the sackiness.

I may leave the coat as it is, but the pants literally don't fit. If I weren't wearing braces, they would be down around my knees. I need to decide whether to alter now or when my weight stabilizes (I'm aiming to lose another ten pounds or so).

Nice. If you haven't already, you should x-post in conservative business dress.

Thanks, ss. I need support lest Lufty lure me to the dark side.

Well, that's another matter. Get them to fit properly, then.
