Would like some feedback on two aspects of today's fit please.

 

Firstly, what would you pair this tie with? I have the devil of a time finding things to wear with it but really like it as an item so would like to use it more.

Secondly, what do folks think about casual anoraks on top of jacketed outfits? It's not something I do normally, but I just couldn't find another coat I wanted to wear over the top and it wasn't quite warm enough to go without another layer.

 

 

Minutes ago, this arrived in the mail. Couldn't wait to try it on.







All that is needed is a little length to the sleeves,and the trousers could be just a wee bit longer. The fit of the coat is spot on. The back side is clean and neat. The color of the Polo suit is even more beautiful than the pictures portray.

All that is lacking is the Palace of Fine Arts (San Francisco) in the background to identify the original owner of this well known and beloved Forum suit who, kindly, included the lovely Corneliani tie.

This is a fairly accurate picture of the true color of the fabric.

Two packages of music arrived, also. But, who cares about that?

This tie and coat combination is smashing! I like the mix of green, olive, and blue.

Thanks. It's 2 or 3 years old now I think, by Rayner & Sturges, and ordered via Sartorial Executive. I can't remember the fabric maker though, sorry. I'm about to order a few more shirts soon, in fact, though nothing quite so retina-searing this time round. :)

New sportcoat I got in the mail today from Ebay. Corneliani, looks like mid 2000s. Worth tailoring? Needs to be pressed and taken in a few places I think and sleeves let down.

It's nice but as you said go to a tailor to get the sleeves down a bit and definitely pressed. Otherwise its good and it matches nice with those pants you are wearing!

Dimple should probably rest midways under the knot, not falling totally to the right...

 

Apart from the pinstripe look, the stuff is nice.

The only thing I have to say is that I dont like how the tie extends far past the waistband of your trousers.
I like the colors thought, nicely coordinated.

I don't think it needs to be pressed. It's just some sprezz.

yes, lengthen the sleeves a bit
and i think you should probably get the sleeves slimmed as well
they look short and wide right now
