HOF: What Are You Wearing Right Now - Part III - Page 1278

I've decided to throw my gloves into the ring, as everyone is posing with them of late. For reference sake, they are lambskin and cashmere lined - quite lightweight, so any illusion of Hulk Hands is a trick of the camera, not a reflection of reality.

Suit - BBGF
Shirt - CT
Tie - Andrew's Ties
PS - Robert Talbott
Cufflinks - BB
Shoes - AE Sevens
Hat - Selentino
Overcoat - Joseph Abboud
Scarf - H & K

Too bad my full length shots sucked and were unusable. I am digging this today.

^ I should like, but somehow I don't. I think it's the colours; feels a bit "depressed" somehow. Can't put my finger on it though.

Gentlemen, are these gloves too big?

Yes. They make your hands look like Dr No.

Shoulders on the jacket don't seem to sit as nicely as most of your items.

Casual today. Shirt collar loosened up and opened properly after a few minutes wearing but pic was taken too soon so it appears a bit stiff here.

... you'll note that the chest fur permits two undone buttons even in December.... :p

There are some really AskAndy-worthy fits buried just beneath the surface of the last 20 or so pages.

Well done.

My inbox is full of PMs from members' wives. I have no time for silly wagers.

I'm catching up with this thread, just read this. I am hoping to come upon you quoting your own post and slapping your seal of approval picture on it.

Spoo, that jacket, from what I can tell, looks like it fits you really well in the chest & shoulders. Noice.

I've noticed many new guys on here suggesting this lately and I think in the real world it's not true. 95% of people either look uncomfortable with them in, can't fold them properly or can't pair them properly (or all 3). There are a few guys on here that do it very well though, but they are a minority. I agree that white is a good start though if you must. I'm on a non pocket square run at the moment for one reason or another.
A windsor know would be the worst knot possible with this collar, which is a fairly standard point collar. Even if it was cutaway i'd still only suggest a half windsor due to the huge knot size of most windsor knots. Personally I wear a standard four in hand all the time, even with spread/cutaway collars.
Colourful socks are another one that 95% can't pull off for the same reasons as pocket squares including me. Again there are some guy here (Spoo for example) that do it quite well, but he also wears alligator shoes and gets away with it. I tend to wear navy blue socks with almost everything save for some grey shades and a few pair of coloured but dark Pantherellas (moss green, wine etc).
I'd like to think I am reasonably friendly to the newbs so I hope the above is useful to both the OP and yourself.

I do in fact appreciate both yours and CD's comments greatly, exactly what I was hoping for.

Pocket squares and bright socks are something I think I will have to work up to but, hopefully, I will eventually be able to pull off.  So, with what you said about the knot, would you agree with my use of the double FIH or what do you think would work better? I also picked up two pairs of AE oxfords last night, the players in black and the clifton in a darker brown.  I figured one black and one brown would be a good start, I have a third that I am contemplating picking up in black.

As for pics, sorry, that was a last minute decision to post from the office without a flash and terrible lighting.  Today I will see if my **functioning** digital camera is charged, and if so, see if I fare any better today.

And LOL I read ALOT of the previous posts in this thread and saw several newbs get torn a new one, so I came prepared expecting the same.

If you never make it to the bright socks, you should still sleep easy.

Thanks, Stephen! ))))

Agree with the comment about shoulders... could it be b/c of fabric of the jacket ?
other than that, flawless as usual...
