Scammer Alert: Automated Response

Thread Starter
So I made a deal with this guy for a RLPL cashmere sweater in exchange for a pricey Armand Diradourian x Paul Smith cashmere scarf plus $125 via paypal. He was great with communication until he got his money and scarf and then has ignored any attempt to get in touch with him. I felt relatively safe dealing with him due to his being a member for two years and having some positive feedback but the guy definitely burned me and after sending around 7 politely worded and kind e-mails (all of which were ignored) and waiting over a month for my sweater, I'm ready to fight back. Any help from the mods would be greatly appreciated.....the retail value of the scam is over 1k so I'd be happy to get the police involved if need be. I've found virtually everyone on here to be honorable, prompt and cool and am posting this so that this place stays that way.

His name is:
Ryan Dean
1640 Hinman
Hanover, NH 03755
USA

and his e-mail is: AbsolutelyCorporate@gmail.com

If any of you know him or know his number, I'd appreciate you getting in contact with him. Short of hearing back from him within the next 48 hours with a tracking number, I will do everything in my power to make sure he's banned from paypal as well as this (or any other) forum where he can scam other people.

Let's see what I can do.. Hinman is not a street; rather:

The Hop is also home to the College’s Hinman Mail Center. Each undergraduate student receives his or her own mailbox, known as a "Hinman Box" or "HB", at the beginning of freshman year. Packages may be sent to the mail center as well.
At least we know the recipient is studying at Dartmouth College, which makes things a lot easier. Per Wiki, they are a private, Ivy-league university. A quick Google search reveals a Ryan Dean on the rugby team, which was posted on Twitter on March 19: http://twitter.com/#!/dartmouthrugby...54229377941504 Suggestions: 1) Try to get in touch with the rugby team coach; 2) Contact campus police regarding off-campus theft and mail fraud; or 3) Get in touch with school directly, though they probably won't provide you with any student information. Judging by the school, the scammer is not without means and probably has a reputation he'd like to keep intact. I'd say chances that this is resolved in your favour are improving.

Interesting to see this posted today. I have a similar story with this person, albeit on a much smaller scale - around $90 or so. I sold him a pair of jeans, which he paid for promptly. All communications were nice and friendly. Then he told me that they didn't fit. I refunded his money and asked him to send them back, which he agreed to do. Never heard from him again. Sent a few follow up messages, and then just gave up, deciding to stop stressing about it and just move on. But my loss was on a totally different scale than yours - I support your cause and hope you get some sort of restitution.

Be sure to post this in the B&S feedback thread too. Noticed he's not logged in for a few weeks--extended spring break?

Sooo intriguing...

when shall people use the B&S feedback thread, didn't a mod just warn people not to do this. I don't think he's some criminal mastermind thinking up ways to get your scarf and $125 bucks. If that's his real info, there's no reason even a half wit would intentionally try and take you for a scarf and a few bucks.

^I think he may know that. He is probably just asking if they would help him, he would greatly appreciate that. If I am wrong, disregard this then.

help him do what? they plainly state that they are not responsible for issues like this btwn members. if they got involved in every debate, they would have no time to scratch their ballz! while the OP may be in the right, it is up to him/Paypal/counterparty to sort it out...
