Well, they're both really lovely people - I've bought four pairs of shoes from them and the service has always been great.

Can anybody comment on AS' quality compared to C&J? Would it be accurate to say AS is equivalent to C&J Handgrade? I notice they also use channeled soles.

I thought it depended on the line from AS.

Speficially the AFPOS AS shoes. I noticed the channeled soles and thought they'd be equivalent to high-end handgrade models.

I have two pairs. I'd say that sole work (waist etc) is more refined than C&J handgrades, attention to detail in stitching on par while upper leather is sligthly higher on the C&J's. Considering the pricing I'd rate AS Exclusives better value. In absolute quality I'd rate C&J Handgrade sligthly higher. Very good buy!

Any ideas on AS sizing in general compared to say CJ or Lobb? I usually fit 10.5E CJ or 11E John Lobb depending on last.

Typically the same size in AS should fit fine - 10.5E UK C&J = 10.5F UK AS in most lasts apart from 7WK where we suggest 1/2 size down as they are designed to be large for thicker socks.

Sale looks incredible. Too bad the Charlton is out in my size 7.5UK. I was really looking for a split toe derby on a dainite sole. I think I'll have to buy proper evening shoes finally. Wearing polished black cap toes with a dinner suit has come to an end.
