I chose the "wait for shoes and trees to ship complete" option. Will let you know when I hear back. She has been very prompt with her responses. Since it's evening time in the UK, I would guess I'll hear back from her tomorrow.

Got a response from Julian and Sarah. They estimate it will be 6-8 weeks until they're ready to ship.

Ouch! I wish I knew that before ordering. I actually need my pair for a wedding May 15 frown.gif

I had asked them to add flush toe taps and to ship complete with the shoe trees. They might be able to get yours a bit quicker. Can't hurt to ask. I'm sure they would try to accommodate if it's possible.

I didn't know that until very recently. I went with the option of shipping the trees separately in order to have my shoes shipped out to tomorrow. All is well again in my universe. A+ service over there at AFPOS. :)

Country comes to the city for casual Friday. Hannovers on their maiden voyage.

Scruvy, what size did you get based on other shoes you own(Alden or EG would be helpful)?

I took a 7.5UK. I have another pair of AS in the 87 last- plain toe oxford in patent leather for formal occasions. Don't remember the name of the style. There may be a touch more width in the boots, but after only one wear they feel very similar.

I wear an 8UK in the AS 48 (handgrade- this is the best fit around my instep of any last/size)
I also wear an 8UK in AS 99.

My best fit overall is the 348 last from C&J. That I take a 7.5UK
I also like the 363 handgrade last from C&J. I wear an 8UK for boots in that last.

I wear an 8.5US in the Hampton last from Alden. It's my only Alden last/shoe.

I think i have one other last in AS, but can't remember and i'm away from home right now so I can't check.

Sorry, I don't have any EG to compare.

I would email Sarah at AFPOS. She's terrific in terms of sizing shoes blindly. I've bought every shoe except the 48 based upon her sizing me over the internet based upon foot tracing measurements. The 48 I tried on at Leffot, but it was narrow width and way too tight. Even the regular fitting I bought through AFPOS GMTO feels a little tight on the ball of my foot, but the heel and instep are perfect, so who can complain.

Good luck.
