A Fine Pair Of Shoes: Official Affiliate thread - Page 11

Hi Julian,
I'm looking at the Loake Pimlico. I'm typically a 10.5 B or C in US sizing. What size do you recommend? I'm leaning towards 9.5, but i have read on here people going 1.5 sizes down from US size on the capital last, saying it is quite high volume. Further info, i have a relatively high instep. Could you provide some input?

Thanks,

^ I'm a US9D and had some Capital last shoes in UK8F. I found they fit very tts lengthwise, but ran a bit wide / high volume at the forefoot. If you're a US B or C width, I don't think the Capital last will work for you. A 1½ size US-UK conversion probably won't make up for this; you'll just end up with chukkas that are too short and wide.

Just ordered a pair of the Crocket & Jones Waltons. Definitely outside of my typical style but the shoes are gorgeous and the price seems great. I am a small US 8.5 so I am hoping they fit. Looking forward to getting them.

Hi asdf,

Thank you for your message -the Loake Pimlico is a standard UK F fitting, equivalent to the US D fitting, therefore, as mentioned, you could try dropping 1.5 sizes to cut the width and the length, but this still might be a bit wider than you would normally wear.

You can always return the boots if you are unsatisfied with the fit, but the choice is yours.

Any help we can give, just ask.

Regards

Julian

I wanted to give everyone an update that the Crockett and Jones Waltons arrived today and indeed are gorgeous. I have no doubt that I am going to get a lot of interest when I wear these. In a perfect world these might be a tad wider but I think they will be fine. Julian and A Fine Pair of Shoes got these here exceedingly fast and in great shape. I would highly recommend buying from them! Thanks Julian.

Great company, great shoes and even better customer service!! Is there a particular shoe tree that you recommend for the AS Moore? I cannot find a shoe that goes well with the last.

I recently ordered with AFPS (do we have an acronym yet?) and I will also attest to the excellent customer service and attention to questions. Sarah helped me out and she was prompt to my inquiries. Additionally, my C&J Islay & AS Tavistock were both carefully wrapped and shipped promptly.

I'm crossing my fingers there will be a brown wholecut in my size sometime soon; too bad the Tavistock does not have a twin in my size.

Amazing new offer for Style Forum Members

In order to clear our remaining stock of Alfred Sargent Classic, Premier, Country and Veldtschoen shoes and boots to make way for some amazing new lines, we would like to offer Style Forum members a very special discount of 25% off these lines until the stock is cleared. This will make most of the lines approximately 50% of their original recommended price.

Just enter the code SF25 (within the EU) or SF25NOVAT (outside the EU) in the checkout section for your discount to be applied. This is effective now until the lines are sold. But hurry, this is the last of these lines.
