Spencer (48F) and Armfield (109F) measure almost identical in a size 7F UK, and from checking with AS this morning, the 48F is slightly wider at the ball than 109, but overall volume is slightly less than 109. Therefore the fit is very similar. Here are a couple of comparison shots for you:

Thanks very much for the information.  It's good to know I've got more options going forward :).  I think the captoe gives the illusion that the Armfield is fractionally wider around the toe box, but I think they'd be identical without it and hence the same fit.

I was thinking about mirror shining my Armfield's tonight, but I have to resist the temptation to turn the entire shoe to glass.

Definitely the best customer service of any shoe store store I've ever dealt!

Here is our brand new Jodhpur boot called "Francis", made in burgundy calf with a contrasting pingrain strap. All of our styles are made with J & FJ Baker & Co Ltd. English oak bark tanned sole leather and having closed channelled stitching, hand inked and hand polished.

As the quality of the crust calf leather is so high, they mirror shine very easily!

All our shoes are proudly made by Alfred Sargent for us, to exacting standards. All of our current line up are built using the Handgrade last 48, as we think this offers excellent fit and comfort while having a wonderful sculptured bespoke shape.

We include complimentary lasted AFPOS shoe trees and free international shipping for £390 inc VAT ( £325 ex VAT outside the EU).

Any questions, please advise.

Those are absolutely stunning! If I'm ever in the market for a pair of jodhpurs I now know where to get it.

How does the 48 last fit as compared to the 53?
Mostly I'm concerned about the instep area.
The 53 fits my feet quite well in a Jodhpur and those Francis might be calling to me too.

As these are both Handgrade lasts, they are based on the same foot design, with the 53 being more chiselled and the 48 being more classic almond, and the 19 being the pointier of the three.

Fit will be very similar, and I have tried the 48 on and they are a very comfortable fit indeed. Leather quality is the best and construction and finishing is stunning.

So for those jodhpurs what is general sizing info from US size?

What last were the shell MTO Millers on? I got those in a 9.5E and they were slightly big. Being that this is the F width does that mean go to a 9?

I hate figuring out widths in AS. Can you clarify if this is a wide, normal, or narrow fitting?

Thanks

The Miller mto were on 724 last, this last is quite wide across the foot, so the 48F should be a better fit for you. If you send me your foot measurements in cm I can confirm, but on balance the 9F should be closer for you. Really keen on getting the right size for you, as these are stunning boots.
