What's the Worst TV Show Premise

I know there's already been a discussion of what the worst TV show is, but I'm interested in exploring what is the worst concept for a TV show.

I'll get things kicked off:

Airwolf - A rogue helicopter pilot has stolen a highly advanced military chopper that he's hidden in a dormant volcano. Each week some new bad ass shows up in the same geographic vicinity to hatch some evil plot that ALSO involves a military helicopter. At the end of each episode they duke it out in the sky.

Just read this crap.

Oh come on, finding a super-powered alien based hero suit, but losing the instruction manual, could've happened to anybody.

Compared to this, Mr. Ed looked like high art:

A show 'about nothing' seemed to work out OK

You're doing it wrong. Airwolf should be in the Best Concept For a TV Show thread. As for the worst? Well, I'll know it when I see it. I might say Cougartown, but I've never seen it and would like to keep things that way.

Wow! Both are really good responses. I had forgotten about Cop Rock. That was really the nadir of Bochco's career. He rebounded nicely with NYPD Blue (which completely sucks now, but was good for its time).

I'll throw out NCIS. Who knew that hundreds of serial killers were operating within 50 miles of the same Navy base? Which reminds me where does Mark Harmon rank among Hollywood stars that were talented and good looking enough to keep getting work, but never really panned out in terms of meeting their potential. I would put him above Lou Diamond Phillips and Rick Schroeder but below Mandy Patinkin.

I was gonna say Baywatch Nights, but that might actually be the best.

What's most shocking is how it's not played for laughs. This premise could potentially work if there was a touch of humour to it, but everything is played dead serious. You almost have to admire how awful it is. It's the sort of bad that has to be seen to be believed:

Here's another show some of you may remember. I won't spoil the premise so I'll just let it creep up on you, like it does in the opening credits for the show:

I think Glee is the worst, second Modern Family

Glee is debatable, but isn't Moder Family just about a family? I think some of you might not quite get what Biggskip is aiming for with this thread. You might not like Modern Family, but as far as I know (I've never sat down and watched it) the premise isn't ridiculous. Same with Jersey Shore, which just falls into the "reality tv" category. What are shows that have premises that make you wonder how they ever got the green light? Like Cop Rock, a serious cop drama that also has musical numbers, or Small Wonder, a sitcom about a guy inventing himself a freakin' robot daughter.
