I'm obsessed with penny loafers right now, and gradually becoming more obsessed with my new Alden/BB tassels. I will certainly wear each quite a bit - pennies with everything except for conservative business dress, tassels mainly sockless with conservative business dress.

I'll also wear some boat shoes, and am hoping to pick up some dirty bucks to complement my white pair.

Various loafers for the office (very casual work environment). Drivers and Jack Purcells for non-work pursuits.

For me, spring means it's time to pull out my whiskey shells, boat shoes, and penny loafers.

OP said outside of work. Being the type of person who wears black oxfords everywhere outside of work is not something I would be proud of. Becuase it would mean I'm a really boring person who leads a really boring life.

Mid-tan loafers, I think. Pretty versatile items.

Although, in truth, I don't think I really have a "go-to" shoe, as such.

Thrifted some AE driving shoes in tan suede. I think I am going to wear these like other people wear sandals. In my mind I think I can wear them with denim and probably chinos, but I won't find out for sure until I try them.

I'm much less a fan of boat shoes these days, now that they are frat boy shoes. Bucks are good.

I'm looking to get some very thin-soled / low profile black lace-ups for this summer. maybe a two eyelet derby. To wear with dark, loose pants (navy or black) and t-shirts.

I've heard a couple people say this. Maybe it's just because i'm in the south, but i've found boat shoes to always be popular with the preppy/fratty crowd. They were popular when I was in a fraternity in the mid 00's. I think they've become more popular with hipsters lately due to the whole americana trend.
