Which wholecut brouge should I get? - Page 2

Lets not descend into shoe pedantry...

I'd say go for the Cheaneys: I prefer the rounder toe and the medallion, I'd have to say the entire purpose of a wholecut is it's simple elegance and the rounder toe of the Cheaney is slightly better at portraying that.

To add to the "no help" column, I actually prefer the "boxy front" of the Italigente and the medallion of the Cheaney. So, now you have conflicting opinions, neither of which helps.

My personal opinion is that wholecuts tend to look a bit blobby due to the lack of visual breaks. As such, I think the "boxy front" is better suited for the wholecut than a more rounded toe.

I agree with this, I normally don't go for longer sleeker shoes, but I prefer sleeker wholecuts, like G&G and Vass U last for example among others similar.

I certainly hope they make decent shoes and I am certain already they do not play in the same league as Loake 1880. I have had Loake shoes for a long time (not to say Loake are bad).

The big problem with reviewing shoe quality, is that it takes at least three or four years before one may get a fair indication of the quality of the leather, and not to be underestimated, the construction. Good luck to you Doughie as well, I urge you to review your shoes as well, when the time comes :)
