We have to have some other horse racing guys here, I can't be the only one. Anyone got any horses they are high on this year in general? I really like sway away but was pretty bumped about his race in the rebel, but he did get a tooth knocked out in the gate.

REALLY looking forward to dubai world cup saturday

The Dubai Cup is really something. My dad is a huge racing fan. He used to drive to Reno, NV all the time for Kentucky Derby but lately we take him to Vegas for it.

Have you been to HK for racing? Its a different world.

I've been to both Happy Valley and Sha Tin. I was at Sha Tin for the New Years races. Had a great time.

Sha Tin is on my bucket list. thought i might be able to go later this year (actually to toyoko racecourse for the japan cup) but that's right at thanksgiving and this isn't the year i can swing it.

I like musir in the world cup for what it's worth. can't back gio ponti at age 6 off a 6 month break

I just finished watching The Hennegan brother's documentary "The First Saturday in May", a documentary which follows a number of aspiring Kentucky Derby contenders (amongst them Barbaro) during the 2006 racing season. For racing fans it's absolutely fantastic. There's a scene at the end of the film where you see the jockeys and horses getting ready to make their way onto the track as "My Old Kentucky Home" plays in the background. Got me choked up, I must say.

There's no more beautiful spectacle in all of sport.

In racing news, Uncle Mo, the prohibitive Derby frontrunner, is a 1-5 favorite at the Wood Memorial this Saturday. I wish I could see him race against some decent competition but I guess we'll have to settle for him demolishing a field of unknowns.

Uncle Mo finishes THIRD in the Wood Memorial as a 1-9 favorite! Unbelievable upset.

I'm not a fan of horse racing, but I remember my uncle who would pick me up/babysit me in elementary school until my dad got off work would follow horse racing religiously.
