Would love to catch some matches but I have several issues:
1) how hard is it to land tickets in center court (or one of the main ones)?
2) are the tickets you get day passes or by match?
3) what kind of price am I looking for?
4) is it better to buy a package deal (hotel+tix+airfare) or break it up?
Any input is appreciated!
based on your pm, I know you read my post. Here's a little more info:
- It's very hard and expensive to purchase a ticket once you arrive. I'm good at such things, I spent a lot of time on it and the best I managed was to wait on the queue.
- Tickets from our concierge were about $3000 for center court.
- If people are caught selling tickets, they can get kicked out of future lotteries.
- There were some debenture tickets (a small amount of good tickets that people are allowed to resell) available on the wimbledon site for around $500-$800.
- The tickets are day passes
- There are a couple of companies that are authorized resellers of wimbledon tickets. I think your best bet is to buy a package of some sort from these companies. They are listed on the wimbledon website.
- Waiting on the famous queue was actually fun, very well run and nice crowd. Maybe I got lucky, but it was just an hour or so and then I managed to walk right up for resale tickets. It would have been another hour or two for center court resale. However, if you're making the trip just for wimbledon I strongly suggest you have your tickets lined up before you arrive.
- you might try asking the same question on the tennis warehouse message boards.
luck,
