Ralph Lauren Darlton Wingtips - Page 5

last private sale they were 30+15% off and included pretty late in the sale. Not sure what the story is on the next one.

I prefer the tassels and pennies over the wingtips.

Yes, through ebay. wrong description, of course.

I own the wingtips, PTBs, and loafers. Got great deals on all three. Wingtips were ~$250 on SF (about 2 or 3 wears max); PTBs were $50 on eBay (not marked as shell; again worn less than 5 times); loafers were $250 NIB from some random eBay seller that accepted my offer that was 50% asking price. All in all, I've had great luck accumulating a nice collection of RL/C&J shell. I've been waiting to get the split toes, but those are rarely seen. I'll get a picture of mine in the wild soon. I find that the leather shines best with a soft rag instead of a brush. Not sure why, as all my Alden shell take a brush very nicely.

Can anyone give me sizing advice on the Darltons in relation to Clarks? I have a size 8.5 in Clarks Desert Boot and Wallabee. Thanks.

I remember the title of the listing was not very descriptive so it wouldn't have been something that many would have picked up on. Although I have had some decent pickups along the way, this sub-$100 Darlton pickup has me beat.

Was that the pair that Shoebacca listed as damaged and w/o a picture?

They weren't damaged, but yes, from Shoebaca.

This wasn't my all-time best eBay deal, however. It just fit this thread.

Paid $325 on B&S! I don't find them blobby. The shape adds to their considerable charm.

Also, the color of the cordovan is called dark cognac when it leaves Horween.

I did not think they were blobby... until... Compared to Vass F last, which is not known to be sleek. Still love the Darltons though.

Or maybe not even Clarks. I am more of a SW&D guy so that is a good reference point for me. How do these run, generally speaking? I take a size 9 in my Cole Haan dress shoes. 8.5 in a pair of Johnston and Murphy ski moc loafers.

I am a TTS 12D and would size down to 11.5D.

My best eBay score was a pair of Edward Green black cap toes, BIN $20, brand new w/o the box.
