Spoo, paying full price is not a sin.

What? When? Where? How? I can't afford to pay full price. I have over 30 pairs of dress shoes/boots and the only way I can continue with this sick, twisted addiction is to kop at cost or half off of retail

Thats odd. I thought the "Marlow" was the plain toe blucher and the "Darlton" the wingtip. But you are right, a google search of "ralph lauren marlow" does generate the PTB and the Wingtip. EDIT - Congrats on the purchase!

I paid quite a bit for mine (not retail though). Somewhat of a regrettable purchase for me too. I tried I couple sizes and none of them really fit my foot that well. The pair I ended up keeping slips a bit in the left heel, which is extremely annoying.

The first nice pair of shoes I ever got. It was at one of the sales - the SA implied that he was giving me a great deal, instead of selling them for their sale price...

At the time I thought this was my OneShoe. I still like them but now wear them sporadically, mostly when I'm wearing a sports coat/slacks instead of a suit or during casual weekend wear... and it's inclement weather so I don't want to wear my suede shoes... and even then I alternate them with my Alden cordovan NSTs. So I don't wear them all that much.

I also find it hard to give them the luster that other posters seem to get. I'm waiting on some Saphir conditioner in the mail, that may do the trick.

Would you say they run a little big?

Try some padding in the heel or stick an extra insole.

I have no complaint about the price paid or the quality of shoes.

My gripe is with the shape. It's blobby and unattractive. The pictures on the RL website looks much better than in real life. If it weren't whiskey shell colored and made by RL/C&J, lots of people would not have overlooked the inelegant shape/last.

I quite like mine, but I also echo sentiments about sizing being a bit off and the last being somewhat blobby. They're nice shoes, but a bit overrated on this site, IMO.

If the size was intended to be US, then yes, they do. I wear an 11 in EG, C&J and my 11.5 run a touch bigger.

Thanks! I sincerely hope they work out for you but in the unlikely event you decide to unload them.. \tQuote: \t \t \t\t \t\t\t \t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\tOriginally Posted by NAMOR \t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t \t\t\t\tSo with all the regret here, who is selling a 11.5D or 12D?

Something interesting I noticed, one of the associates in the store was wearing a pair that he said he'd had for a year and they looked really, really worn and not in a good way. They look dry and not at all the like colour of the new pair I just bought.

Yikes (!) for folks paying full price for this shoe that regularly goes on sale. At least twice a year, they hold the private sale -- just monitor the board and wait for the announcement

I bought mine in October, I believe. I wear them at least once or twice a week. I brush them hell out of them with a horsehair brush and they still look great with a nice shine. They have also aged a bit darker in some areas, which I really like. Finally, mine did appear to arrive about a half size larger than the 9D on the box, but I wear them with a thick pair of socks and enjoy them.
