This. It's been 10 years, and the Strokes have never been less relevant. I loved their first 2 albums and rate their discography like this.

Is this it - 9/10

Room on Fire - 7/10

First Impressions of Earth - 4/10

Angles - 6/10 at absoulte best, being generous

New album: First half is good, second half is bad

Wow, disappointing. I had some hopes for this album.

I don't agree with this.

I think tracks 1, 2, and 10 are really good.

Tracks 3, 5, 6, and 8 are pretty good.

Tracks 4 and 9 are not good at all.

Track 7 makes me thing that the next time they make an album and Julian shows up to the studio one day and says to Albert that he and Nick have a song that they've been working on and that it will just be the two of them, that Albert should punch Julian in the mouth.

Overall, I am quite happy with the album.

What about the last track? I think it is in some ways similar to track 2.

Supposedly they plan on going back into the studio to record the next album, next month. I have to wonder if they're just trying to rush the next album (which will the required fifth album due to their contract) so that they can break up the band and go their separate ways. They have been very candid in interviews and there seems to be quite a bit of animosity amongst the band.

I'd have to agree^
