Lol, thought I just double posted. Quintuple post, nice.
@Rambo: You mad today?

I skimmed the book at a bookstore. It has some recipes for homemade bitters. I can imagine making your own bitters would be fun as a novelty, but not something you'd do often unless you are a cocktail nerd. A lot of work, and you likely can't make anything better than that which is commercially available. Better off spending your time making syrups and infusions.

Agreed, infusions are a tremendous amount of fun.

I consider Angostura, an orange bitter, and Peychaud's (the first three bitters in the second picture) to be the essentials. To this group I have added Bittermens Xocolatl Mole Bitters (similar to the fourth in the second picture, gift from sister and brother-in-law), Bittermens Boston Bittahs (also gift), The Bitter Truth Celery Bitters, and Fee Brothers Whiskey Barrel Aged Bitters (similar to Angostura). This collection covers all my bitters needs.

A local mixologist infused some Krispy Kreme donuts and vodka once. Was fucking amazing.

There are several words in this sentence which should never have been.

Big +1 to the first sentence. All of the other shit, I leave to bartenders. I find this level of detail too tedious for home consumption. I'm a simple man.

Rambo: Three Olives is now making a fruit loop flavored vodka. It is suppose to taste like the milk at the end of a bowl. You should have a martini made from that infusion to go with that burger. laugh.gif

Oh, right. Krispy Kreme Vodka, you're all for it. Fruit loop vodka? That is somehow beneath you.

Hey, a man's got to draw the line somewhere.

Seriously though, it was SO good. Imagine getting drunk off a dozen krispy kreme donuts.

Made one last night. Absolutely delicous. Although, maybe more of a spring/summer drink. It is still going on my go-to drinks list.
