Steinlager "pure New Zealand beer". My brother bought it to try something different, but I'm not a fan. Might have a glass of wine in a few.

Lined up? I've got the ladies lined up, waiting for a go with the Connedude. I'll see what I can manage re: pics.

Found a close up on just the Scotches from the other night:

Looking for one of the Louis but do not think I took one. I guess booze will do that to you!

We are planning another similar blow out for the Holidays, but we want to do a straight theme to the drinks. Aged Champaign has been put forward. Not sure I want to drink bubbles all night though. I am aiming for a "Bourdeaux vs. Napa" maybe on high end Cabs. We'll see how the liver function comes back first!

I have only 1.75L of Evan Williams to last me thru Saturday. This will be a truly trying time in the life of the Connedude.

Agreed, very nice. That Duncan Taylor was good too but the Johnny was totally harsh compared to those two gems. Hate to see a $200 bottle of Scotch come off harsh. The real jewel though was/is the Louis. Never in my life have I drank something like that and I do not think I ever will again. I have some left and am saving it for something in the next month or two.

I agree about the Blue Label. I wouldn't call it harsh. I think it's pretty smooth but it doesn't have the finish of the 21 yr old Balvenie or other portwood aged single malts, which is outstanding imo. I've never had the Duncan Taylor but it sounds amazing. The Louis XIII must be amazing (isn't it like $1,500 a bottle?).

EL, yup, the recent bottlings of Louis go for 1.5-2k. This one was a gift and was a 1965 bottling. I was just so pleased that it was perfect in every way. When you consider some of the grapes for that bottle were picked 100 years ago, it is just amazing. I really do not think I will ever taste anything quite like it again unless I find myself holding a winning lottery ticket one day.
