Well, I was tired, so jiggers and measures gave way to measuring by eye and adding whatever sounded good. I think I ended up with enough gin to smooth out the day, as much OJ as I happened to catch in the glass, a quick splash of dry vermouth, and (possibly) one or two dashes of bitters. Couldn't find the shaker, so I stirred it, added more ice and drank. The recipe you posted looks great! I'm definitely going to have to try that. As for tonight: I have to pick my wife up in a little while, so I'm keeping it light (for now) with a Yeungling Lord Chesterfield Ale. Not bad. Once I've got the wife safely home, dinner in my stomach and my Intermediate Accounting work done, I'll probably have a negroni or bourbon highball (made with Basil Hayden). Trying not to go TOO far overboard this week, since the wife and I are going to a big wine festival/6 course wine dinner/cigar tasting at the
World's Greatest Grocery Store. Also, I was a bit too far gone to post about it afterward, but this weekend my brother introduced me to an oatmeal stout that is made especially for a little place called Black Bear (hippy-esque burritos and such) that was really nice. Ended up putting a few pitchers of that away between the two of us. EDIT: went for the bourbon highball (aka, bourbon and dry ginger). Good choice.
