Coke. It is the ****. And if you like pepsi you are probably a communist, or terrorist because you hate freedom.

Is anyone into specialty soft drinks? I've been drinking Boylan's Black Cherry (my fave right now), Sioux City Sarsparilla, and Sprecher Ravin' Red among others. I also like other flavors by IBC, Stewarts and some Spanish/Mexican brand that makes an apple soda (can't remember the name--not Jarritos). Personal favorites, recommendations, etc?

I just ordered a medley of flavors as a birthday gift for a friend from http://www.popsoda.com/. The prices per bottle are reasonable, but shipping is almost $1/bottle. A very nice selection though.

I would pay $1000 for them to bring back IBC Cherry Cola, it was that good.

Now I like IBC Tangerine and Cream, San Pellegrino's Aranciata, and Izze's Clementine flavor. My local Fresh Market has a lot of other ones I'll get around to trying eventually.

Brian, have you tried IBC's black cherry? It's excellent, almost as good as Boylan's. What I really like about Boylan's is their use of natural cane sugar as a sweetener instead of high fructose corn syrup. I'll have to try the IBC tang and cream. Izze is sort of weird to me, too fruity maybe. idk. What does the SP taste like?

and ghulkhan, i'm not a big fan of Jones Soda Co. I prefer somewhat more traditional flavors.

edit: just saw you were talking about cherry COLA. nm then. but try their black cherry anyway cuz it's great. on the cola note though, have you tried sprecher's puma kola?

I had Black Cherry about 10 years ago at least, which I though was good until I tried their now-extinct cherry cola. Now I'm spoiled for life. I've never had Boylan's, I'm not sure I've ever seen it but I'll keep a look out at Fresh Market. I did have one old school bottled cola but I the name escapes me. It was interesting, I'm not sure I would continue to pay $2 a bottle for the stuff over regular Coke.

The SP Aranciata is basically like Orangina but much better. It's one of those carbonated orange juice types (including the pulp).

1999 Noval LBV Port. Truly, truly lovely.

It's still findable for like 30 USD a bottle. Buy some, you won't regret it.

Huntsman

Aaaah, Port. Huntsman, I have been meaning to get started on Port. There is a friend I have been badgering about this but I don't get to see him much. So, what would you recommend as a good introductory traditional Portuguese port? I want to try the original article first to get a baseline. Preferably one that will not cut in to my clothing budget
