In honour of Don Draper of Mad Men... Trying out the rye: Weisers.

Plus I just bought a used car and need money to fix it up a bit, so going on the cheap.

Finishing off a bottle of Ketel One I bought on sale last week for $18/750mL. First time I've tried it and am rather disappointed. Much prefer Belvedere.

I had a fun beer tasting with friends tonight.

1. Rogue Morrimoto Soba
2. Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout
3. Sierra Nevada 2008 Edition "Wet Hop"

Polished off a Newcastle as well.

Sadly did not get to the Ommegang Hennepin.

I posted this in another thread. I have tried for over a decade to get Weisers where I live now and finally found a place that had some. So I bought them out!

Damn that's a lot of rye! I found it to be very light compared to the scotch and bourbon i've been having lately. I hadn't seriously tried rye before, but it did go down easy and was very drinkable (a little TOO drinkable, had about two too many last night haha).

It was my favorite whisky growing up. We always made manhattans with it. Although it is mighty tasty in diet lime coke too.

Mmmm, Oban...

I'm not drinking this right now, it's the Thanksgiving line-up (l-to-r):
Conn Creek, Napa Valley, Cabernet Sauvignon Limited Release, 2004
Old Ghost, Lodi, Old Vine Zinfandel, 2005
Sonoma-Cutrer, Sonoma Coast, Estate Bottled Chardonnay, 2006
Toulouse, Anderson Valley, Pinot Noir, 2006
Chateau de Segries, Cotes-du-Rhone, 2006

I'm very tempted to keep the Toulouse for myself; the rest I don't mind sharing with the extended family.

Binge:

If you can find it for a reasonable price, try a Turley zin. They source from several vineyards, but I think you'll like it. Also, try a Merry Edwards RRV pinot noir, and tell me what you think.

I wish my parents kept alcohol in this house. I would kill for a drink right now.

For Thanksgiving, with much to be thankful for, an unintentional parade from 1989: 89 Krug, 89 Latour, 89 Vieux Telegraphe, 97 Tignanello, 85 Montebello.
