Lately, I've taken a strong liking to a cheaper bourbon, Old Forester:

With the talk about Rye in the Scotch thread, I stopped on the way home today and bought a bottle of Old Overholt and some Angosta Bitters (I already had sweet vermouth, I have no idea why) and I'm drinking a Manhattan. With a few ice cubes because global warming has come to Southern California. Hold the cherry.

Last night, too much Balvenie.

Tonight, too much red wine (Okanagan Merlot, Australian Pinot Noir, Chilean Cab-Merlot).

Red wine from South Africa.

We had a Pride Mountain Merlot, 2005 for dinner tonight. If you can find a retailer that got a Pride allocation, I highly recommend it. Edit: I forgot, for some reason, I felt I should toast Conn with the "Pride".
