It was a small place in Kitashinchi that a client took me to so I didn't catch the name. I just sent him an email to find out the name, I will drop you a pm if I get it. It wasn't a hostess bar but it was the kind of place with a reserved section for the hostesses and their customers to have a drink outside their usual establishments. The bar itself was quite plain but well stocked. The bartender was a true pro.

I was soooo looking forward to having a well made cocktail but hopes were dashed when you mentioned client and Kitashinchi in the same sentence. No need to worry when you have your client's entertainment budget paying for your drinks.

Who here likes rum? I've been getting into it a little. Picked up some Plantation Jamaican 1998, very unique. Lots of floral notes on the nose, sweet smelling. Delicious sipping rum, silky smooth, sweet but not cloyingly. Finishes long and with pleasantly light burn. Very complex, a great buy at a $35 or so.

Aged sipping rums provide a great experience. I'm a fan. I like the Guatemalan Zaya 12-year-old and the Ron Zacapa 23. The Trinidad Zaya is also good, though less so. There are some other, more exotic ones I'd like to acquire when I can afford them.

Off work early today, start of my long weekend, so I'm starting with an old fashioned made with Rittenhouse. My next one will be with Pikesville I believe.

^As long as there is no Diet Coke in that equation then you're golden. Which burbon do you like the most out of the three?
