I'm not asking as in implying you're an alcoholic, just really don't know. Do you open it up and have a couple glasses then stick it back into the cooler/cellar? Or once you open it, is it now or never like it loses quality after being open and not used quickly.

There's a little over five glasses per bottle. On a weeknight, my wife will have one and I'll have 2-3. So there's a little left usually. The next night I might have a single glass and she'll have none. Or, if I'm cooking, I might use the remaining wine to cook and pop another bottle for dinner

On the weekend, a bottle for dinner is nothing.

Then we might go a week without popping a bottle. Just depends on the mood.

So it's best to drink pretty quickly after you pop it, or would it be cool to sit like 5+ days?

I wasn't implying anything about your personal habits... more just trying to learn about the actual wine rules.

Usually a bottle is empty within 24 hours at my house. Pop Monday, done by Tuesday.

I remember my first encounter with Bulleit. 2006, July or August...I spent the day at the Saratoga track with a few friends. Lost a lot of money but I also got to meet Marylou Whitney Vanderbilt and David Cassidy (literally walked intoo him as I was about to place a bet!!). We stopped at a nice restaurant in downtown and I asked if they had any Knob Creek..."we ran out earlier, but the bartender recommends Bulleit." So I ordered it, and I was sold. Four or so tumblers later and I was REALLY sold!

I burned through about 6 MGD, 2 "candy canes" (50/50 peppermint schnapps and hot damn), a couple kamikazee's, and a bunch of tea and brandies.

I wasn't really palnning on drinking tonight, but I had my work done and one of my housemates was mixing so I just started drinking what he handed to me.

mmmm. . . and a good night it was

Wow, Piobaire, you're killing me with the Caymus. That's one of my favorites.

Tonight I'm just polishing off what's in the fridge: Coors Light. Not my favorite, by far, but I'm actually enjoying it quite a bit. I'd never drank much Coors before.

Just got a job offer yesterday, so hopefully I can start back on the good bourbon and rich red wines soon.

That's my go-to "I'm a poor college kid with no money and just want to drink" beer.

No, Coors Light is more like a "I'm a poor college kid who just got my $7/hr paycheck today." The poor kid with no money drinks Milwaukee's Best Light, Natty Light, or Schlitz. At least those were what I drank in college when I had no money nyway.

I think that Rolling Rock fills that bill much, much better. There's a reason it was a cult beer for a long time before it went mass. Although not a challenging beer, it has a pleasantly distinctive taste.
