IMO the 18 is severely overpriced. I'd vote for Highland Park 18 instead. At about $80 vs. $140 it's a much better value for the money and is a complete classic.
In the Macallan range I'd suggest the Cask Strength -- it's a very good value for the money. Even if you don't care for cask proof whiskey you can cut it to taste and that'll make your 750ML bottle stretch even further.
