Had a couple glasses of vinho verde with dinner, man you can practically chug that stuff.
Just finished a great Manhattan variant I made: both rye and brandy, carpano, allspice dram, cherry and expressed orange peel. Avoided making it too sweet, which can happen with the allspice dram.
Going to wrap up with a splash of scotch and call it a night.
On a side note, I just spent a couple days in New Orleans for the first time. Some great old bars there (but a lot of shitty tourist places as well). Made me realize that while I like absinthe quite a lot in cocktails, there are better things to drink than absinthe and water plain.
