So bit of drinking trivia. I was streaming The Sopranos the other day while working out. Season 1, way back in 98 or 99, E5, Carmella tells a priest that shows up at her door in the middle of the night she was sipping Fernet.

I noticed that too. smile.gif

Other than that, mostly Ramazotti and some Amaro Lucano when they're in Napoli in S02 from what I recall. Also vodka (Ketel One and such). I'm at S04 (yeah, already.. been kind of binging it), so no beverage spoilers please! biggrin.gif

50% sale on a few wines @ amazon.de again, so I ordered a bunch (some of which is for my mum). Haven't had a single one of those, but should be some decent to good/great stuff. No clue about the Vollmer Beerenauslese. Couldn't find any info on the interwebs. Might be too expensive, idk. But it's from where I was born/my family is from so sentimental value and such.

Hot vermouth (a play on a hot toddy - sustitute vermouth for whisky). A damn good idea since I seem to be coming down with something and dont have whisky

Gotta spike it with something high proof though!

Had my first glass of Diplomatica Reserva Exclusiva tonight, really nice sipping rum.  It's only $29 near me so I can really beat it.  A nice change from the El Dorado 12 and Plantation XO I bought.  Probably going to try El Dorado 15 next as it's only $35 at the local store right now (usually $50)

32c Gage Roads Brewing Co Single Fin Summer Ale. Probably the first of many tonight, either that or numerous Tanq 10 and tonic.

Znaida was my other revelation on that Berlin trip.

Pics later, but a friend just came to visit and brought me a bottle of Bonal (one of my long-time favorites) and Hammer & Tongs' L'Afrique vermouth, which is new to me and quite exciting. Never had anything like it, in fact. Some stuff in there I didn't think vermouths could do. Alarming and even kinda titillating.

Challenge accepted.

Frankly this is not that interesting vs what I've already posted. Turns out Skinos needs lime and celery bitters to taste good.

Pimms and Needles

2 Oz Gin
3/4 Oz Pimms
3/4 Oz Skinos
1/2 Oz Lime juice
2 dashes celery bitters

Pretty good. I followed it up with some Jura, which was also good. Thanks @Master-Classter for the inspiration!

Started off with a 2013 Ledge Dusi Vineyard Zin. Don't scoff at the grape; this is a serious wine.

Moved over to a Reyka vodka martini, 4 oz vodka, .5 Lillet, .5 NP dry

Now sipping a Francis Darroze 1992 Armagnac.
