i blanched and peeled my almonds before i made it to make it white. it tastes pretty good. I'm thinking a drink with lime juice would go well with orgeat

I love the texture of Clynelish. Great malt, and it seems to fly under the radar.

I've only ever seen the 14 year. Has anyone tried the DE?

Just Rothman and Winter. The other picture was a better representation of the colour.

Yes, it is the best of the several I've tried now, though for some reason I keep wanting to try them.

Any ideas on what I should make with orgeat?

Yes. You should make my cocktail called the Art Deco. It is gin, lemon juice, Cointreau and Lillet blanc. Will post recipe tomorrow when I get home.

Creamy and opaque is how it will be if you make your own orgeat -- fake stuff like the Fee Bros crap or almond "syrup" will make the clear drinks.

yeah i misspoke. i meant the barrel proof edition. the single barrel is still great tho

50 euros isn't too terrible of a price

A Baptist preacher I know (old family friend) always makes the point that Jesus turned the water into wine, not grape juice. American Baptist, not Southern Baptist.

As for what I'm drinking, I'm currently disposing of a Rolling Rock. My next drink will be of far higher quality, you can be assured.

Are you strict about using a proper Julep glass for the drink? Wondering if regular glass would be terrible as a substitute...

I use a Jefferson cup. Perfect size- fill it with crushed ice after muddling the mint, and 2 shots of Bourbon fills it pretty much exactly to the brim. And it looks pretty.
