I was at the tasting.

We took shots and turned it into a hootenanny!

Damn, that looks fine. Drank a bunch of my buddy's private For Roses barrel last night.

Just picked up a bottle of the pappy rye. May sit on this one for a while. Still kind of looking for a pappy 15.

Huh. Looks like I'll have to join in on the Pappy hunt. As for me, I'm putting the final touches on my turkey stock for tomorrow and sipping on something much more pedestrian than the rest of you: Four Roses Single Barrel.

Checking in on my latest cask of manhattans. Doing nicely. I decided to do solara style and added 50 ounce of new manhattan mix and tossed in some toasted French oak chips. Should be ready for Xmas.

Moving on to an Old Fashioned with my cocoa/vanilla bitters.

I as well. Going to be in Kentucky in a few weeks and I just know there is some god-forsaken, rat hole of a liquor store down there saving a bottle for me! nod[1].gif

So, I thought Aqua Monaco's extra dry tonic water would pair well with Hayman's 1850 Reserve gin (you know, extra dry tonic with a gin that's a bit "sweeter" due to cask aging). It does, but the tonic water itself is really quite bland. Not very aromatic.

Having some (almost) 120 proof Four Roses. Sooooo good, but so expensive.

I went back to Giant and got 3 more bottles.

I had another glass tonight with some left over spaghetti and meatballs.

Cheers,
