Frye's Leap India Pale Ale, brewed in an old railroad station in Gorham, Maine.

A Trident cocktail, invented by Robert Hess.

1 oz Cynar
1 oz dry sherry
1 oz Aquavit
2 dashes peach bitters
lemon twist cut over the glass

A vintage cocktail glass to pour into after stirring in my Yarai miixing glass.

Had a long lunch at our favorite local spot and were tasted on some new Bourbon.

They're going to save me a few as I figure they might make nice bottles for syrups, etc. in the home bar.

I just re-tapped a cask of manhattans I put down in November. Gawd-dawmn. So good. I added a big strip of orange peel and so good.

So my plan with my 3 litre cask is to drop 2 litres of Wisers in and age it for two months. I'll then add my NP vermouth and age for another month and pour off into bottles.

I had a penicillin made by Sam Ross last night. We talked about chest hair for a bit.

Piob, what aquavit are you using?

You need to get on that North Shore or Krogstaad Aquavit level, son.

Thought I had some North Shore but then the purveyor would not ship to my state. Just trying to get through this thing we call "life."

Luckily we can get it. Probably not surprising considering I'm a scant 4 hours from Sonja's gin wonderland. #6 is one of my favorite gins ever.

On another note, convinced my old boss to run a French 75 special with The Botanist (cha ching) and her housemade limonello. Tried one tonight. Win!

Was talking to a guy from Scotland two weeks ago (well, by "talking" I mean drinking my face off with) and he was all about The Botanist. We'll be chilling in Paso this Xmas and he's bringing some.

Go with the Krogstad. Better yet go with the Gamal. If you need some I can send you a bottle or Kyle can. I prefer the unaged. I don't make cocktails with aquavit and I like prefer the lack if subtlety that the unaged has.

I haven't seen this yet, but I wanted to share. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jgsYEMOqXO4

The Facebook clips have been decent 30-60 second interviews. Here is what a friend texted me about it "Yea those aren't in the movie I think they're just extras. The movie focuses a lot on Stevie from EO and a guy from CT. But with cocktail/bar history and other industry fancy people in there too."
