Some people just prefer a milder flavor in straight whiskey. Sounds like you may be one of them. If you like Irish (which does tend to be milder than most bourbons), there are several brands that you might try, including Redbreast and Bushmills. Jameson also makes several "lines" of its whiskey, so you could always experiment within the one distillery. Canadian whiskey also tends to be fairly mild and subdued, so you might want to try one of those. My two favorites are Crown Royal Black and the Canadian Club small batch. Good luck.
