Both are more expensive than FR. EC is 12 yo and very roubust. Of course it will do good in coke but the alcohol is very concealed in it so one can easily go on the rocks. MM ... well I mean why not?

I seldomly drink Bourbon + coke but prefer a Whisky Sour.
My tongue is not as sensitive as yours, but I prefered the EC over MM because it had more character, I have not tried other bourbons.
Which reasonably priced brand would you recommend?

Yes but EC is aged 12 yo and MM is not. That makes a big difference in the flavor complexity. Also MM is a different bourbon because it is wheat based. 

 

As for the budget bourbons I like Four Roses Yellow Label and Evan Williams. A bit higher in pricing I cannot say I don't like Maker's Mark and I definitely like Four Roses Single Barrel.

Why do you think so? I am asking because I have no extensive experience in making cocktails with different bourbons so I wonder...

OK, fair enough, I thought that you referred to particular brands of bourbon as better and worse mixers and wanted to understand that.
