What are you drinking right now? - Page 740

I just picked up a bottle of Pussers Rum for $21 after tax! So I'm drinking it now. Neat.

Try Hendricks and tonic with some slices of cucumber. Trust me on this.

No doubt. smile.gif

FWIW, I haven't used Hendrick's for anything yet. redface.gif

Tried it today. With Tanqueray and TBT Orange bitters. I find the concept interesting. The orange, Chartreuse verte and St. Germain work quite well together. It's on the sweet side, which I'm not the biggest fan of. Moreover, the Tanqueray didn't fit in there, imo. Probably better with Beefeater (or even Beefeater 24 for some more fruity/citrusy notes), or maybe even Citadelle/Hendrick's (not sure whether the Chartreuse verte overpowers them, but the Tanqueray surely wasn't well integrated). Will have to try again.

Had a Martini yesterday. 5:1 Citadelle-Dolin dry. Two spoons of brine. And orange zest (forgot the orange bitters). And a Sicilian green olive (yummy). Was better than last time. Will do 1 tsp next time.
Today a bottle of Santa Cristina Rosato Toscana and a glass of Santa Cristina Bianco Umbria. Both '11, or so I think.

Having a gimlet, made with real lime juice and simple syrup rather than roses. I'd forgotten how good these can be.

I am not sure how to tell you this but your recipe is incorrect. The best recipe is obviously 4:1 Citadelle / NP dry. nod[1].gif

I tried 4:1 Citadelle/Dolin Dry. Was no fan. (I generally am no fan of Martinis, but 5:1 was much better)
The Dolin Dry is too intense for the Citadelle with 4:1.

My sweet spot with the NP, my current vermouth of choice (always subject to change), is the 4:1. I did a 5:1 Tito's vodka the other night and both of them were stellar smile.gif

Unnamed cocktail, was just playing around:

3:2:6 Gin (tried with Hendricks and Citadelle), Cointreau, tonic. Two shakes Angostura. Served over ice in a tall glass.

Tasty, especially for the somewhat warmer weather of the last few days.
