Nebbiolo dalle Langhe 13% - now this is why one lives in Italy.

On a frightening note, I seem to have finished half of the handle of Citadelle I bought a few weeks ago...which is far from the only thing I've been drinking. My current iteration of a martini is just so damned good.
What ratios did you use again? 4:1?
Exactly. 4:1 and I put in three soup spoons of brine.

No olives for me, thus no brine, just lemon peel. I used 4:1 Citadelle : Dolin dry. I don't really remember the strength of NP dry anymore, but 4:1 seems too much vermouth with Dolin dry. It dominates the delicate taste of Citadelle (esp. in the aftertaste). But I can see 6:1 working well. Really interesting gin.

Yard work done. Pacifico in hand. Probably switch to wine when I start grilling the steaks.

Oh, I do a couple dashes of Fee Brothers West Indies.

It's a pretty flavorful gin, isn't it?

Hm. I found it to be more delicate and subtle than a burst of flavors. I quickly cross-tested it with Tanqueray and Tanqueray is much more intense. Much more juniper. Citadelle begins with more aromatics and just develops the distinct juniper taste in the drydown.....
So yes, more interesting to my taste but also easier to dominate.

And the nose. Hardly any juniper but a ton of florals and aromatics. Very nice.
