What are you drinking right now? - Page 716

i made the mistake of buying $8 worth of seltzer from walmart, (which amounts to a lot of bottles), and it turns out to be crappy sparkling water with tons of aspartame in it.  I like my seltzer to have just a touch of fruit flavoring with no added sweeteners.  so now im stuck with god knows how many bottles of this shitty ass drink.

taking a swig of it right now.  censored.gif

Okay, I'm going to make a confession. I made this on Sunday and enjoyed it:

4 oz Tito's vodka
1 oz Noilly Pratt
2 dashes Fee Brothers West Indies Orange Bitters
Garnish with three big olives

Here's the embarrassing part....I added some olive brine. It was good.

Right now it's MHL because I'll always have a little redneck in me.

After this probably a Tom Collins or Moscow Mule.

^ Miller is actually one of those shit beers that tastes aiiight when cold and in the can, not bottle.

Crushed a shit-ton of Mojitos made with Ballast Point "Three Sheets" rum. Moved onto Mount Gaye "Extra Old" Old Fashions with HUmag46 afterwards. Feeling it a tad this morning.

That's exactly why I drink it. I'm a complete beer snob (living in Colorado makes that very easy), but I love me some MHL.

But seriously. A Mint Julep is a Mojito with bourbon. And Sprite.

Red wine at noon (some Sicilian Nero d'Avola), white wine before (Domäne Wachau Grauer Veltliner) dinner and after (some German cuvée of various "summer-y" grapes), beer at dinner, Old Fashioned as bedtime drink (2oz Woodford Reserve, 1 sugar cube, 2d Angostura bitters, 1d TBT orange bitters, lemon (didn't have orange) peel).

Okay, got some Karlsson vodka. It has character...terrior...what have you. Neat ,I like it. Creamy mouthfeel, has a definite potato/potato peel quality that's pleasing. Made a dirty vodka martini. I'm not crazy about it. Prefer the Tito's if I'm doing vodka but both are inferior to the Citadel gin.

I plan to try this vodka a few different ways. It has weight, backbone, character.
