Revisited the Pyrat rum for the first time since that drunken night... you guys were right. Good lord, horrible. Definitely a serious rotten banana situation.
And I've moved on, to cap off the night, with something mojito-like. Gin in place of the rum, and topped off with Black Cherry Berry herbal tea instead of seltzer.
Quite tasty. It seems lime and mint as a base will support a pretty wide range of flavors.
I don't know how "good" British is. German Cappucco is "great" (i.e. it sucks balls). They use cups with like 300ml and froth the milk so badly that it boils, resulting in abnormal foam.
I use 150ml d'ANCAP cups, 1 shot espresso (30ml), around 80-90ml milk and prefer my milk with microfoam at around 55-65°C. Still have to practice Latte Art though.
Death's Door gin with a splash of Fever Tree tonic water and a few line wedges. Local liquor store finally (after a 6 month drought) got a new shipment in so I bought a case of 6. I'll be in good shape through Labor Day now!

Hands down, my favorite gin, period. During the drought, I tried Corsair, Plymouth, Edinburgh and a few of the brand extensions from Bombay and Tanqueray, but nothing came remotely close. Try it.
