Brandy Crusta. 2 oz Raynal cheapo french brandy, .75oz each of lemon juice, triple sec, and maraschino. Dash each of Peychaulds and Orange bitters.

No cocktail in nearly one week. eek.gif

Will have a Water Lily later today though.

Drinking lots of espressi today -- practicing with my Silvia. Surprisingly very drinkable results from the first shot on. Crema is there etc, not undrinkably bitter or sour, neither watery. I'll have to finetune everything and get to the perfect grind size, but I'm pretty close to ~25 secs/shot already. My micro scale will arrive on Monday, until then I'll just fill the sieve to the top.

Pimm's Cup #1

Nothing in the world quite like a well made mojito.

Last night, after the crusta, I had some Laphroaig 18. As I commented on another board, with the salt, the smoke, the tarred rope, it's like drinking the age of sail. Absolutely delightful stuff, one of the best gifts I've had in a while.

Finishing off with a dram of Old Pulteney Scotch Single Malt 21yr.

Having some cheap port right now, Dow's Fine Tawney. From my very limited experience with ports, it's actually not bad. Anyone got any advice on getting into ports on a limited budget?

If you see this before noon (EST) on Monday: www.cinderellawine.com

^Did see that, and despite the substantial discount, still busts the budget.

Right now, I went with playing around with a new (to me) liqueur. Chateau Monet, which is a rasberry liqueur that had a lot of copy about French royalty on the box. Probably made somewhere in the midwest, but it seems nice enough. Around $15. Basically a chambord knockoff.

Anyhow, I went with 2oz gin, 1oz lemon juice, 1 oz of this stuff, dash of peychaulds. It's really good, the 2:1:1 Base liquor:lemon juice:liqueur is a pretty consistently successful one.

Had a wonderful Erdinger last night.

Copper Fox rye whiskey with an ice cube. This probably could use a little more age, but it's not bad.
