I am drinking a mix of around 11 different single malts that I made myself by randomly combing left overs. 5-6 left overs were poured on top of already opened bottle of JW Green. It is fantastic. Whiskey blender must be the easiest ******* job in the world.

Set up six liters of Nocino. Will report back around Christmas or so.

Useless pic (the two jars on the left were set up 2 weeks ago, didn't find too many walnuts then) :

And now I'm sipping some Vieux Rhum Dzama 1998. Positively delicious.

Martini is about to release another product in their "Riserva Speciale"-line: a bitter. Aged in the casks that stored the extracts etc. Supposed to be a good addition to the Riserva Speciale Rubino in a Negroni. That's not the regular Martini bitter, fwiw, and supposedly priced like 20% higher than Campari around here.

Looking forward to that one. Dolin has released a bitter too!

So, old topic: Orgeat. I know @Huntsman recommended one from Eataly but I can't find that here. Have you guys tried Meneau, Combiers, 1883 Routin, Giffard etc? Any favorites? Or DIY - this recipe from artofdrink.com was praised in an article I've read.

Edit2: I tink I'll do a mix of the artofdrink, this http://postprohibition.com/diy/orgeat-syrup/ and the one on Smuggler's Cove.

Also just bought a bunch of rums, rhums etc. because I want to delve into tiki cocktails this summer.

@Principle not a bad night dude. How was the Colorado stuff?

A lot of iodine and something I would describe as cooked evergreen needles. Apparently this distillery has a lot of experimental batches and they always put a lot of charred aspen directly into barrel. There was a common note between the two I tried. I would recommend it.

A bit of a pity this place kinda died out, but if any of you have some unusual tiki recipes that you love, let me know. The selection in Smuggler's Cove is slightly overwhelming, but I've noted down a few and gathered a few more over on /r/cocktails.
Also looking forward to making some of Death & Co's drinks, which I actually haven't until now despite having owned the book for quite a while, so if you have any recs (iirc some of you weren't that big on the book, but still), lmk.
Working with a slightly limited (in some regards) but still pretty good range:

Rums:
Appleton Signature's Blend
Gosling's
Doorly's 5
Appleton Estate 12
Plantation 5
Bacardi 8
Kaniché
Plantation O.F.T.D.
Wray & Nephew OP
Smith & Cross

Rhum agricoles:
Clément Première Canne
Clément Vieux V.S.O.P.
Barbancourt 8

Other stuff:
Clément Creole Shrubb
Pierre Ferrand Triple Sec
Cointreau
Grand Marnier
The Bitter Truth Pimento Dram
John D. Taylor's Velvet Falernum
Giffard Abricot du Roussillon
Giffard Banane du Brésil
Chartreuse verte
Suze
Luxardo
Campari
Apérol
Ramazzotti Amaro
Bénédictine
Absinthe
Dolin Rouge
Noilly Prat dry
Amontillado Sherry
Soberano Brandy
Tanqueray
JW Black
Ardbeg 10

and homemade
Grénadine
