Mosquito net, citronella candles, plant a rosemary hedge (this will also keep dogs from pissing on your yard), or you can go the expensive route and get those electric zappers.

Mosquito coils... http://conford.en.made-in-china.com/...uito-Coil.html Burn one of these in your room, the critters hate the things. Mosquito nets as well are highly recommended.

Or get one of those evaporators you can plug into a wall socket. Kills them by releasing a insecticide. Citronella candles have never done anything for me.

If you are in good ventilation, used the coils. If not, citronella and nets. Mefloquine if you are a malarial zone.

Box fan. Mosquitoes can't outfly even the slow setting. Put it at the foot end of the bed pointing at the head. That way, there won't be any lee spots for them to congregate in.

I don't even know that mosquitoes even exist in the US for over six years. I stayed in IL, IN, OH, PA, FL, CA, NV, TN, and WI and I have never experienced mostiques bites.

Anyway, I'd like to let you know that I hate mosquitoes as much as you do. In fact, I could not think of anybody who would hate them more than me because I'm allegic to them and I live in South East Asia where it is impossible to avoid them. When it comes to choosing things that I used to prevent them from biting me, I would be extra careful, so I would ONLY USE products that are completely made of natural herbs or products. Certain things which are human-made can slowly destroy your health even though they may be effective in preventing mosqutoes from getting near you.

Well, I went to stay in Tennesse, it was for a little over a week in early January. When I was in Florida, I was there from January to May. I really gained nothing from lying so I don't know why I would even have to pretend.

It's just really, really, really, really unlikely. But like you said, why would you lie about that? It's just hard to imagine, unless you stayed inside at night, constantly, that you were never bitten. You lucked out! I live in panhandle Florida, (after being born and raised in central Florida) which has a later mosquito season then the rest of Florida. Even here, they are already out and biting like crazy.

And not getting bitten during one week in the dead of winter in Tennessee is meaningless . That's like saying you drove through Detroit once and were never mugged, so it must be a safe city.

Don't they have any at your local drug store? Just look for it where they stock their insect bite relief/repellent products.

I don't think it's harmful to humans, at least not in the quantities emitted. The one I have conforms to US/EU health regulations, which is good enough for me.

hm.. this might be a bit of a redundant comment, but why would they let you use something that would damage your health?? sounds a bit silly if you ask me... its not like you have a little man smoking in the corner.
