My new shirt from Andre Lani ( custom tailor )

You know.. every once in a while it's nice to bring out a shirt with a little flair.. so about a month ago I caught Andre Lani while he was on tour and he helped me design just that.

here's the breakdown:

Thomas Mason sea island cotton, contrast stitched button holes, classic spread collar, patterned french cuffs, with my mono gram on pocket and inside collar, makes picking up at dry cleaners easier)

Really happy with the way it turned out!

.. Has anyone else been tailored by Andre Lani before?

Glad you like it. M. Lani's tastes may not be to everyone's liking here, but he seems to satisfy his customers.

I tailored by Andre Lani when he would stop by in Chicago for a few years, and was extremely pleased with his suits and shirts.

I'd still be using him if I didn't find Ercole's

He isnt a big name that you can wave around and tell all the cool kids you have a ZENGA or a brioni.  You can look good in a suit or shirt and if you arent a person that needs a name. You will like him.   Funny thing happened to me at the Airport.  Couple people compliment my suit, nothing special a Scabal 130.  I was standing next to a guy in a fairly nice Zenga.  It was amusing to see someone walk past a Zenga 600 trofeo.  I think it was called as he turned out to be my seat mate and I saw the label.

But everyone here knows that a British or Italian contracted hand is vastly superior to any other.  I don't know though, whats worse a suit made in God knows where or from a HK master tailor, some of the best looking clothes are made there.  Of course you dont have that label that SCREAMS I spent 7,000 Like a brioni.   What you need to ask before you go with someone like Andre is do I need an ego stroked wearing a suit that "looks like an X"  Or do I want a suit that looks like it was made for me?

Maybe you want permanent stays in your collar?  but you get to pick that.  All those other insecure guys will say, is you dont understand what its like to own X brand, everyone can tell I am wearing X brand.  Like  Tom Ford sports coat with 1 of 4 buttonholes real machine made.... but its different color THREAD!!

Where does my angst come from?  A visit to a Nieman Marcus Outlet where my Brioni tie and suit were 50% of what i paid retail.... and people still tell me it looks like a Brioni. Gosh dang it. I DONT want it to look like a BRIONI I want it to look Sick on me.  I want people to look at my car and say that looks like a 997 911tt.

He used to take measurements for Hemrajani. Looks like he struck out on his own.

Failed troll?  Difference is I can go down the road find a 70% off hickey freeman., Brioni, or Zenga.  I can get a brioni tie for 49.99$.   Sorry I don't buy something so i can "join the elite class" especially when its basically M2M at a premium.  I didn't make money buying high and paying a huge markup.  Like someone told me, you can show up in your Italian off the rack suit, but just make sure you change the nameplate on the door and vacate , now MY, premises by close of business.  You wouldnt grasp that though.

You also have no idea how good a hong kong tailor is.  The invisible pockets and other stuff they can do to a coat or suit that can save your life are amazing.  But I can't say X made it. LOL!  How insecure is that.

Difference in you and the people that buy 360 suits a year. Is after you tell them they have a nice suit and it matches yours they hand you their car keys, take the ticket and tell you to have their car ready in 40 min.

Come on man you are posting on a style forum 288 times. Im guessing you don't buy super 220's  so shouldn't you be doing something else?My lawn needs work. Or are you posting from the boardroom. LOL!!!!   I bet your fiero has a lambo body kit on it too.

Oh and if you even know womens designer's  hit up the same place.  200$ LB shoes, 300$ chanel.  If you spend more than 500$ on a dress you wasted 3000$     You will have to live with the fact your Gucci or Lela Rose was bought at Last Call but  I didnt see any tags saying "purchased at last call"

However if you see a black techart 911 wave.

Ok no offense ment, and amuse me how many of us on here had Tom Ford come out and measure us and design a bespoke around our body?  NOT one these designers or tailors are making a suit for you, Someone takes measurements and someone else makes it.   Unless you have the financial means to spend 5 figures on a suit have major connections and a designer willing to do it,  and if you do you better have more than 15.  Because what fool has a closet full of M2M department store suits with a name, and one bespoke by the MAN suit?

OMG I feel terrible Add911_11 is a poor student.  He might actually be a Valet.  Of course the kids that have done nothing to get where they are yet still find the time to know it all are the best.

When you do something on your own respond till then S2, sit the #@ down and shut the #@! up, you inexperienced little lad.

Your trolling is getting worse, please do some research on brands before putting up your arbitrary argument.

It is a good laugh though, cheers for the entertainment happy.gif

The shirt looks really good, but for my taste I would not add a breast pocket and Initial on the front, instead I will move it to the right cuff

Do you intend to wear it to work or to pars?

Actually he still works with Hemrajani. I'm confused about what their actual relationship is. Does anyone know? If I submit a shirt order with him versus submitting it on MyTailor.com, are they made in the same place?
