that's a lot of hate.
i don't think its absurd to be impressed by the way he looks, particularly when juxtaposed with the vast array of horrible looking athletes we're usually subjected to.

its obvious he has a stylist, but that doesn't mean some of his fits shouldn't be admired.

I find it weird that people have such disdain for a guy who made a business decision about his OWN career. IMO he's a grown man who is earning his own paycheck. He doesn't owe any of us anything. (note: I'm just a casual observer who didn't follow the whole cleve -> miami debacle intimately).

Its not leaving, its the arrogance in the way he did it.

I'd never imagined there were some many ass sucking fame hogs in the word that would do anything to cozy up to a guy that can throw a ball thru a hole.

What drives me nuts is how they have no personalities, so far removed that they CANT EVEN DRESS THEMSELVES, FFS. Just listen to the same bullshit talk "Coach says x", "Come playoff time, x", "We'll see about that on the court", and on and on with the monotony. Seriously... last time an athlete was interviewed and you learned something???

Another thing that gets on my nerves is I'm now older than most of these guys and I can really see thru into their rampant immaturity and arrogance. I've never approached a famous person and I never will. If you do, then you're an epic tool.

People are so stupid its beyond belief.

When you reach post 1054 you may think different.

Love this comment. For those who mentioned lebron's leaving cleveland there's a pretty good nike ad about it on youtube, but even better spoofs of the ad.

No, not any team's fan. Although I did think LeBron was a total jackass for the way he left Cleveland.

I'm just tired of people looking up to these assholes like they are something special. They're not. They put a little ball thru a hole. Cure cancer? Solve global warming? New source of energy? New political paradigm? Nope. They put a ball thru a round hole.

Now, dont get my rant wrong, I like NBA, but I get the difference between these guys as talented athletes and cultural icon cum fashionista. They are neither.

+1

I'm always reminded of the quote in the movie "A Bronx Tale" when Sunny says to the kid "who cares about Mickey Mantle, he doesn't pay your rent". Not to mention these guys are way below the class level of past athletes, how many ball players were shooting people and carrying guns back in previous era's?

What does learning something from an athlete interview have to do with style? Or immaturity and arrogance?

Whats with the irrational hate of athletes? Some deeper issues here man....

Blah.

I'd suggest the irrational is the undying love and swoon people show these guys. I didnt start the thread and I dont think they have any style beyond what they are told to wear, told to drive, told to club and told to eat. Stupid women and hangers on convince them otherwise. I'm not fooled.

Some deeper cultural issues here man... I'm the normal one.

Why would anyone who doesn't care about athletes or sports be so mad?

There is it. Perfectly stated.

You know who you are... obsessed with the Red Sox, the Bears, Knicks, Jankees, or Duke. Losers, living vicariously thru some sports fantasy cuz your life didn't amount to much. Signed jersey in your man cave. Watch the movie Big Fan. You may work in an office, but you are just like him: watching the game from the parking lot.

Where's the "undying love"? This thread is just a Lebron is well dressed thread. You're seriously overreacting. Nobody here is saying they're infallible or some kind of god-like being. Just that he looks good in what he wears. Regardless of hired stylists.

Yeah, rabid sports fans can be annoying. Who cares though? What does it mean to you?

Is Lebron entitled to play wherever he wants and earn a earn a paycheck wherever he wants? Yes...absolutely.

At the same time, he turned his back on a city that had embraced him because a better offer came along. It's hard to respect someone who does that.

Part of being a grown man involves accepting responsibility for one's decisions and how they affect others. The people of Cleveland were extremely hurt by his decision. However, it appears that Lebron simply doesn't get it. Rather, it appears that he exists in an isolated, elite, millionaire's bubble.

Hence, I don't care how he dresses. I don't like his style.

Cleveland is a shithole, who cares. And it's more pathetic that a whole city can be hurt by one guy leaving.

Ya, I'm overreacting. Look at the bright side. I've injected some life into a thread that was as boring as a Lebron interview.

The interviews are boring because of sponsorship. The athletes don't want to say anything that will lose them sponsorship and thus $$$. That's why we end up with such boring interviews.

Don't blame the athletes. Blame the system.
