Point and Shoot Camera

Hey guys I'm in the market for a new point and shoot since I lost my Canon sd1000 (SMH). I've some up with a few choices. The Canon sd1400, SD4000, Nikon S8100. Now I did read that the best point and shoot would be the Canon s95, but that's out of my price range. I just need a camera that will take decent pictures in most environments , ie low lighting, on the beach while on vacation. Something that will fit in my pants pocket with ease. Which one would you recommed or even if it's not on the list please feel free to add. Thanks in advance

I have a Canon SD780is and have been pleased. It's the size of a credit card, and although it's a few years old, I'd say look for a similar model from Canon's current lineup.

Panasonic LX5 - one of the best. It is in the same price range as an s95 though. Just put in the extra couple hundred (pair of jeans) and you will get a great camera.

My point-and-shoot is a Nikon P6000. It is expensive but quite great. I don't know if they still make it.

My SD1200IS is a nice little camera...looks like the OP was already considering the SD1400 so I would recommend it (or the 12 or the 13 if there are big cost savings since there isn't much difference)

Also what about the CanonSX210 IS? I see it's fallen in price
