Major loss of appetite

Thread Starter
For the past couple of days, I have practically ate nothing.

I literally have zero appetite, when I ate it's because I felt like I had to, but even then I felt nauseous.

This is completely unlike me usually.

I'm going through a pretty rough time, and am really stressed, so i'm assuming that has a lot to do with it. Anyone can chime in with thoughts/comments?

if it is just for a couple of days, just take advantage of the fact you can lose some weight.

however if you find yourself like this for more than a few days, go get yourself checked out with a doctor. it can be a symptom to something

Under heavy stress loss of appetite is normal, and nausea is sometimes present. I wouldn't worry too much. Just drink lots of fluids and eat fruits and vegetables.

The OP is way too vague to provide any meaningful specific advice, so mine will just be general. Will just relate a story that about 18 months ago when I was going through my divorce I (a) couldn't eat...a couple of bites was more than enough, (b) couldn't sleep...took Ambien every night for about 6 weeks just so I could function at work, and (c) my hair was falling out.

In my case all three were stress related surrounding the divorce and once I'd settled into my new place and begun to find my rhythm, my appetite came back, my sleeping became more regular and my hair grew back.

In my case I lost some weight (which I have since put back on sadly...beware the comfort eating rebound).

Don't know whether you have a history of depression or are involved in something much more serious than my situation. If it is transient, then keep your eye on the fact that "this too shall pass." If you need help, get it. Keep exercising.

Be careful out there.

These are commonly the symptoms that would typically follow a breakup or any traumatic event. It is normal, so don't feel like there is anything wrong with you. Take your time to grieve; it is important to let your emotions out. However, if it continues for an unusually extended period of time, and causes you to be unable to function on a daily basis, seek professional counsel.

Background on why this is happening http://www.styleforum.net/showthread...=94146&page=78

You pretty much explained why its happening. Your going through some shit right now and you don't feel like eating and the situation is making you kind of sick. You don't need to see a doctor or anything, nothings medically wrong with you.

I opened your thread, saw the title and closed it. You are stressed the fuck out. Totally ok and normal. If everything you are going through is the result of a breakup then you are totally healthy and happily normal.

I went through what you are going through a few months back and I was trying to bulk... My compensation (not that you want to do this) was almost a gallon of milk and 3x protein shakes per day. If I hadn't done this my calories would have been 700-900 per day and I could not have built up at all. Liquid calories are of course waaay easier to ingest. It was still hard to put everything down, but much easier than solid food. And yes, I did feel like a bitch.

Keep up w the fruits and veggies.

The first time I felt like this, I was very happy when i came out of it, almost like a new, better person. A LOT of people have problems even having this amount of emotion, be happy you do and stand up when you are ready. Good luck.
