The other option was light gray Fresco or Cripspaire, but then I thought the jacket alone would look weird.

In San Francisco you can pick any color you wish if you are convinced that it
will make you feel that it's summer. The thermometer certainly will not.
Of the four examples I'd pick the third. At the risk of sounding like the old
J peterman catalog, the fabric, not the cut, could have been worn by a District
Commissioner of the British Empire in from his post for a well-deserved stay at
the Raffles Hotel.

I would go with tobacco or a very faded blue. For something not entirely linen, you could have a look at Bateman Ogden's "Solana" bunch (not to be confused with Solaro, which they obviously don't have), which is a blend of 50/25/25% linen/wool/cotton. The weave makes it aything but a conservative business suit (so depending on where you want to wear the suit this could be a negative aspect) but at least it wears ad drapes nicely. It is reasonably crease-resistant, too.

K, while the tobacco is nice, I actually think the darker greyish brown would suit your coloring better. Fabric deets?

Seconded. I also want fabric details =(

Foo,
Why not wear it when you are working on the weekend (on which I'm sure you have to work frequently given the job) or, depending on your office culture, Fridays? My personal experience is that you have significantly more leeway on these days for sartorial experimentation.

I feel that navy linen will not a very good suit, SB or DB. Odd Jacket is fine though.

BTW, since you are now using an Italian tailor, see if he/she can get you the Ariston book, lots of super cool looking linen.
